Türkiye's largest agriculture-focused technopark is being established in Antalya. Antalya Agricultural Technopark will shape the future of agriculture with advanced technology and scientific infrastructure, positioning Antalya as the agricultural innovation hub of the Mediterranean.
Akdeniz University is launching a new project that will combine Antalya's agricultural strength with cutting-edge technology. Declared as an extension area (TGB-2) of the Western Mediterranean Technopark Technology Development Zone by a Presidential Decree, Antalya Agricultural Technopark will be established on an area of approximately 1,100 decares (110 hectares) in Aksu, Antalya.
Antalya Agricultural Technopark will host centers of excellence in areas such as water-efficient production systems, smart greenhouse automation, biotechnology and genetic improvement, agricultural robotics, precision farming, and artificial intelligence applications. This ecosystem will bring together farmers, entrepreneurs, industry representatives, and academics on the same platform to develop innovative solutions that will shape the future of agriculture.
As Türkiye's center for greenhouse-based production, Antalya already serves as a natural “living laboratory” for agricultural technologies thanks to its strong agricultural potential. The Agricultural Technopark aims to build on this advantage by integrating scientific infrastructure and advanced technology, positioning itself as a leading center both in Türkiye and across the Mediterranean region.
Akdeniz University Rector Prof. Dr. Özlenen Özkan shared her views on the project: “Antalya Agricultural Technopark will unite our city's agricultural strength with advanced technology, becoming a hub of innovation focused on water efficiency and climate-resilient production. This initiative will make Antalya not only a key player in Türkiye but also a major attraction center for agricultural technologies across the Mediterranean. I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and our Minister of Industry and Technology, Mr. Mehmet Fatih Kacır, for their valuable support in this important endeavor. It is a great honor for us to carry the academic expertise of our university into the future together with our entrepreneurs and industry.”
Antalya Technopark General Manager Dr. İbrahim Yavuz also shared his thoughts: “We are proud and delighted to see the realization of this project, which we have been working on diligently for many years. I wish the Antalya Agricultural Technopark to be beneficial for both Antalya and our country. Declared by the Presidential Decree No. 10389 on September 12, 2025, this new extension area will operate as part of Akdeniz University Antalya Technopark, with a primary focus on Food and Agricultural Technologies. The Technopark, to be established on a 1,100-decare area, will be the largest in Türkiye and among the leading agricultural technoparks worldwide. This project will also stand as one of the strongest examples of university–industry collaboration. I would like to express my sincere thanks to our Rector and Chair of the Board Prof. Dr. Özlenen Özkan, to the Ministry of Industry and Technology, and to the entire Antalya Technopark team for their continuous support throughout this process.”
